Computer Codes

This is an open notes/open book quiz.  It should be done individually or in groups but each student must do their own sheet.  The quiz should be emailed to me by the week after it was posted.  There will be a penalty for late quizzes (a grade if it is late and a grade for each week until the grade reaches a D - a quiz grade will never drop below a D based on lateness - you can only fail a quiz based on your answers). Show the math/work that you did for each answer that required work - do not just give the answer. In other words there is math you need to do to do conversions - show me what you did.  This is in your best interest to because partial credit can only be given if I see the work.

Some of these make sense, some may not!

Code Conversions (EBCDIC):

What does this say (give me the letters of the alphabet and/or numbers – I am not looking for hex on this one)?

1101011111100100110010011110100111110110 __________

Now give me the hex for the EBCDIC above :  _______________________

Code Conversion (ASCII): Use 8-bit ASCII

What does this say (give me the letters and/or numbers)?

01000111010110010011000000110011_____________

I suggest you use charts to help you solve some of these problems:
