You have been hired to set up a database system for a
catering company. The company has a
variety of dishes that they serve and they cater a variety of events. Many of the events are buffets with a
variety of dishes to serve in different quantities. Here is the information you
have gathered:
- An
event will have many dishes served – for each event the caterer will work
with the client to decide on the menu or the dishes being served.
- For
each event I need to know the client and the name and address information,
the location of the event, the date and time of the event, the number of
people being served and how many of each dish I need to prepare (how many
people each dish will serve).
- I want
to store the ingredients for each dish, the number of people the dish will
serve, the amount of each ingredient for the preparation of the dish, and
the cost per serving of the dish.
Please develop table and lay them out in the design I used
in the presentation entitled relational theory ER. Make sure that you list all of the fields in each table as well
as primary and foreign keys. If you
think of other things that you want to include, please do so and explain why.
